Ingredients
Grated coconut – 100g
Dried red chili – 8 to 12
Crushed Maldives fish – 2 tablespoons
Onion – 5 to 7 small
Sugar – ¼ teaspoon (If you want. Taste will be change)
Lime – ½ teaspoon (If you want. Taste will be change)
Salt – As you need
Instructions
1. Get ready with grated coconut and crushed Maldives fish.
2. Take 8-12 dried red chilies (as your wish), onion, salt, sugar, and lime.
3. Then Grind dried red chilies and salt together to flakes like picture.
4. Wash the mortar and pestle. Add the grated coconut, ground dried red chili flakes and red onion.(If you want you can apply sugar as your wish) Bash and muddle them using a pestle until those mixed well. Finally, add the crushed Maldives fish and again mix those well.
5. Now, take off all the mixture to a plate or bowl. Add the lime juice and mix everything well. (Don’t use metal type equipment to add lime juice).
6. Now you can serve and enjoy this Sri Lankan style red coconut sambol with Maldives fish.
(Note: If you can find a grinding stone to blend everything together, the flavors will reach a whole new level.)
